Metrics

Number don't lie
Set Your Sights on Quality

Understanding the goals of your software and knowing what needs to be done to improve those specific goals takes you from novice developer to award winning. How do you track your quality management? We do it with metrics spanning code coverage, code complexity, reliability, performance, security vulnerabilities, licensing and FOSS risk, potential bugs, coding rules, and more. Our process involves determining the minimal thresholds for baseline metrics based on user expectations and quality standards. Then, we create a test suite to ensure the actual metrics exceed the baseline. We put plans in place to determine how to improve those metrics. We then iterate, iterate, iterate. Over time, different factors affect quality, such as the number of entities on a multi-tenant platform, terabytes of data, and the number of concurrent users which can all infl uence the performance, service levels, and quality of software. These need to be tested in an ongoing manner and quickly managed to ensure over the long term any issues do not affect user adoption and retention.

At F4 we know that numbers will speak for themselves. We’ll help to determine the best metrics, measure them, and solve the issues that degrade quality, scalability, availability, maintainability, and performance to ensure the highest levels of user adoption and long term technological success.
